At Veteran Education Group, we understand the challenges that educators face when working with disengaged students and persistent absentees.
Our outreach mentoring teams across the country, achieve remarkable success in rekindling the spark of learning and personal growth within young minds.

Our mentoring programmes, delivered in partnership with TSOM Group, have previously achieved outstanding attendance rates of up to 96%. We are proud to have played a significant role in improving pupil attendance, engagement and outcomes through consistent, meaningful support.
Our unique mentoring framework focuses on developing essential life skills that prepare young people for success both in education and beyond. Areas of development include future planning, social and communication skills, emotional regulation, behaviour management, career guidance, financial awareness and personal budgeting.
By looking beyond academic achievement alone, we equip pupils with the confidence, resilience and practical skills they need to navigate everyday life and realise their full potential.
Our programmes operate Monday to Friday and are tailored to meet the individual needs of each pupil. Sessions typically begin with one-to-one mentoring to establish trust, build confidence and create a safe environment for personal development. Where appropriate, pupils then progress to small group sessions that further develop communication, teamwork and social interaction.
Each session introduces new experiences and opportunities for learning. Activities include bushcraft, cooking, navigation, STEM, physical fitness, leadership development, problem-solving and team-building exercises. We also organise visits to museums and other educational settings to broaden pupils' experiences and enhance their understanding of the wider world.
Pupil voice is central to our approach. We actively involve young people in planning aspects of their learning, encouraging ownership, engagement and motivation throughout their development journey.
Our programmes are centred around experiential learning, giving pupils the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills through practical, real-world challenges. Every activity is designed to build confidence, independence and resilience while encouraging critical thinking and effective decision-making.
To ensure schools remain fully informed, we provide regular communication, including daily session reports and end-of-term summaries. These include attendance, engagement, progress against agreed targets and other key performance information to support effective collaboration with school staff.
Our ethos is inspired by the positive values developed through military service, including self-discipline, integrity, resilience, leadership, communication, respect and personal responsibility. These principles underpin everything we do and help create a safe, structured and supportive environment in which young people can flourish.
We firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and become a confident, responsible and valued member of their community.
Our programmes operate daily from 8:30am to 2:30pm, although the number of sessions each pupil attends will vary according to their individual needs and agreed provision. Every pupil initially works on a one-to-one basis with a mentor before progressing to group activities where appropriate.
No two sessions are the same. Whether developing bushcraft, cooking, navigation, STEM, leadership, physical fitness or problem-solving skills, every activity is carefully designed to engage, challenge and inspire. By combining practical learning with meaningful experiences, we help pupils develop the confidence, resilience and life skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
